Scent the season with Burrow, an earthy blend of bright sandalwood with notes of spicy clove bud and cinnamon bark.
Sandalwood resonates with me personally this time of year so here's a long, rambling note about humanity and our relationship with this sacred wood: Autumn isn't just about perfect weather, fall festivals, and pretty leaves- it's about eventual death and most importantly an undeniable, mysterious rebirth. Sandalwood has been used in human burial rites for ages. Egyptians would include shards of sandalwood (and cedar) in ancient embalming practices. In Muslim funerary rites, it's burned at the foot of the departed so the soul will ascend to paradise. Cremation by sandalwood is also common in India, though the wood tends to be very expensive. Families will still place at least one piece of sandalwood on the pyre if they can afford it. Burrow is an ode to the inevitable winter season with a nod to what's to come afterward. I really hope you enjoy how sandalwood is featured alongside clove in this fragrance.
